How to Save on Landscaping Expenses
As much as you would love to hire professional landscapers, the cost can be too high. A standard landscaping project is, therefore, an expensive venture. There is the DIY approach if you wish to keep expenses more bearable. We have here several approaches to keep those costs minimal.
Those who have old toolboxes need not buy planter boxes in the first place. When you pain those old boxes, they present great planter boxes. You could also use more empty containers such as teacups, tin cans, among others which are lying useless in the homestead.
Another great idea is a teapot light. It affords your garden that fancy feel. You only need that old teapot you no longer use to make the teapot light. The project starts when you get mini solar fairy lights, preferably the 40 inch pieces, which you proceed to fold in half. After you finish bending them, tie the bent ends together using a piece of craft wire. You now feed the lights into the teapot spout and tie a washer on the other end of the craft wire. A good move is to keep the end of the lights and the craft wire out of sight, by sticking them in the spout. You now need to glue the lid on the teapot shut, and find a good position from which to hang the light. The lights should touch the ground. Light will now look like it is pouring out of the teapot.
Wood pallet can also serve as the perfect ingredient to upgrade your walkway. The process needs you to saw pieces of scrap wood to the same length, and pushing the plants into the dirt. You can make it more interesting by adding several curves, to present that old world garden feel. A great place to centre your efforts is the garden next to your porch, to achieve a more cohesive image of your homestead. You also have the choice of adding a fiddle leaf fig or some other potted plant on the porch. The overall effect will be in harmony. It is also beneficial to shop for plants on this site.
It is also a good move to do away with the messy paper plant markers and get stone plant markers. They make for the easiest and most affordable DIY garden project. You can easily pick several stones from the yard. If not, you will find some down at the local craft store. You also need paint to write the plant names on the stones.
With these DIY garden projects, the landscape will cease to be a plain and less intriguing one. Considering it is all DIY; it makes it even more appealing. All your neighbours will be impressed.
